A financial crisis has become one the most important worries for Southern Europeans since 2008. A lack of group-oriented goals (in other words, an excess of individualist aims) has been put forward by some analysers as one of the main intervening factors explaining this economical situation. Lack of cooperation and reflection may have led us to bankruptcy. Thus, Together shows a series of pictures including the result of adding up individualities, without a sense of cooperation. These images show people that appear to be performing ritualised and mimetic behaviours because of this lack of common goals.
This series of scenes may be interpreted as a simulation of social reality, similar to those situations represented by the creators of scenes shown at natural history museums, performed by stuffed animals, or even those notebooks with artistic drawings depicted by twenty century ethologists… In fact, Together wants to show a world where the social behaviour is the result of the environment, rather than agreed ideas.
