Akouédo

The exhibition “Akouédo” at Casa África, curated by Marta Soul, presents the photographic work of Paula Anta, created during her artistic residency in Abidjan. Soul’s curatorial approach invites viewers to reflect on the transformation of the Akouédo landfill in Côte d’Ivoire, a site marked by environmental catastrophe in 2006. Through Anta’s images and installations, the exhibition explores the complex relationship between nature and artificiality, highlighting the ongoing impact of human intervention on the landscape. Marta Soul’s vision creates a compelling dialogue between Anta’s photographs and texts by Armand Gauz, offering multiple perspectives on memory, restoration, and the environment
