Transvisiones2015

Transvisiones2015 was a creation project curated by Marta Soul, based on the interchange of visual experiences aiming at the generation of international spaces of visibility, discussion and critics around photography. It consisted of six residencies simultaneously taking place in different destinations as well as in the city of Alcobendas (Madrid).

The programme focused on geographical areas experiencing profound socioeconomic and cultural transformation. The international locations participating in this project were Art Center South Florida (Miami, USA), Instituto Sonorense de Cultura (Hermosillo, México); y Centro de la Imagen (Lima, Perú).

Alcobendas Art Centre (AAC) hosted three artists visiting the city from the international participating cities (Miami, Hermosillo and Lima). In turn, AAC sent three Spanish artists to the international destinations. Residencies took place during year 2015.

A final exhibition, also curated by Marta Soul, was opened at AAC within the programme of Photoespaña 2015 Festival.

The artists taking part in this programme are Yuri Tuma (Miami, USA), Carlos Iván Hernández, (Hermosillo, México), Maricel Delgado (Lima, Perú), Julio Galeote (Madrid), Ignacio Evangelista (Valencia) and Andrés Pachón (Madrid).

Transvisiones2015 also aimed at promoting new ways of creation. Thus, one of the objectives of the programme consisted of putting forward the photobook as a legitimate means of artistic creation. For this reason, during the final exhibition, a commission chose the work shown by Julio Galeote (“Tropical Ornaments”) for the publication of a photobook.

Transvisiones was funded by Alcobendas City Council and CAA (Alcobendas Art Centre).
