Lugares de Tránsito (LDT)

[Places of Transit] , an international programme of residencies curated by Marta Soul during 2010 and 2011, took place in La Habana, Santo Domingo, Maracaibo, Bogotá, Miami, Guatemala, Panamá City and Quito. Each city hosted two artists (one of them working at a local level, the other one visiting the city), and two curators (a local one plus Marta Soul). The couple of artists produced a photographic artwork based on both shared reflections and authorship.

LDT had emerged from the need to investigate new models of production within contemporary creation. Thus, once the programme of residencies was completed, a final collective exhibition was opened in June 2012, in Tabacalera Promoción del Arte Centre (Madrid). Two books were also published (one with Spanish texts and one with the English version), and a series of conferences was celebrated around the Programme.

The artists taking part in this project were Aleix Plademunt, Tatiana Fernández, Daniel Silvo, Humberto Díaz, Rosell Meseguer, Adler Guerrier, Matías Costa, Jose Manuel Castrellón, Carlos Sanva, Juan Pablo Garza, Esteban Pastorino, Gonzalo Vargas, Juan Diego Valera and Byron Mármol.

Lugares de Tránsito was supported by AECID (The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation) and The Spanish Ministry of Culture (MECD)
