Flying Lovers is a photographic series created by Marta Soul to mark the 30th anniversary of Fundación ENAIRE. The project brings together art and aviation through staged scenes that blend emotion, nostalgia, and a touch of romantic fiction. Shot at the historic Cuatro Vientos Airport, the series portrays intimate encounters beside classic aircraft from the Fundación Infante de Orleans, evoking early aviation aesthetics and the sentimental imagery of travel, longing, and farewell.
The resulting works are now part of the prestigious Collection of the Spanish Royal Household, underscoring the historical and artistic significance of the project.
These images weave together historical and cinematic elements, turning each aircraft into a symbolic stage that celebrates Spain’s aeronautical heritage and its dialogue with contemporary artistic creation.
